Shansheeth: ”I apologize, the death notice was released a little too soon, though I can rectify this immediately!”
This episode really bothered me, and it continues to do so the more I think about it. A big part of why it bothers me has to do with the matter of the Doctor Dying. The Doctor can die, I think. I’m pretty sure. I know I’ve heard that they did away with the regeneration limit (and if that’s the case, then the whole plot of the episode is rubbish), but even so, making him immortal takes away any sort of threat ever, so I don’t see why he couldn’t die.
They didn’t say he couldn’t die… just that he hadn’t. The Shansheeth stole the TARDIS and lied about his death to get Sarah Jane and Jo there so they could build a key from their memories. The Doctor shows up and foils their plot.
As for the line about the 507 regenerations… he says it rather flippantly in response to a barrage of questions and I didn’t take it as him being serious.
Ok, I just had to say this and see if anyone else thought this was funny. In the Sarah Jane Adventures, "Death of the Doctor", the Doctor tells Sarah Jane and Joe that he is traveling with a married couple, "Mrs. and Mr. Pond." I find it strangely amusing that Amy is so in control that she made Rory take her last name. If it was traditional it would have been Mr. and Mrs. Williams. Just thought I would put that out there.
I like that they challenged convention. ;)
I just want to say that I love whenever you post SJ stuff. I LOVE HER SO MUCH I DON'T EVEN.

And to your situation… No one wants to be treated like they’re a novelty or even worse - a sideshow - by their friends. I think sometimes people mean well…they want to be supportive, but maybe they don’t know how to show it and go overboard?

Did you see Death of the Doctor (Sarah Jane Adventures)? If not, wow, shocked. If so, did you notice the Smith and Jones reference when Sarah Jane and Jo were in the coffin?
So now there are three? Jo Jones (previously Jo Grant) and Sarah Jane Smith, Martha Jones and John Smith and Martha Jones and Micky Smith :3:3
Heck yeah I saw it and I lurved it.
Smith and Jones LOL My favorite parts though were when The Doctor told Jo about checking in on her… and the end when Sarah Jane talked about former companions. I admit it… I got all weepy.
